How to Select the Right Filtration System

Types of Irrigation Filters

Choosing the right filter depends on your water source, flow rate, and irrigation system type.

Disc Filters

Best for: Medium organic loads. Disc filters offer excellent filtration down to 40 microns and are easy to clean manually or automatically.

Screen Filters

Best for: Clean water sources. Screen filters are simple, cost-effective, and available in mesh sizes from 80 to 200 mesh.

Sand Filters

Best for: High organic loads (rivers, ponds). Sand media filters handle the highest contaminant levels but require the most space.

Sizing Your Filter

The filter must handle your system's peak flow rate without excessive pressure drop. A maximum of 0.5 bar clean pressure drop is recommended.
